Survived By: His stubborness!

You can never prepare yourself enough to lose someone like my dad. A man who heard every word I said when he wasn’t turning up the TV in the middle of me talking…lol. No but really… People tell me that I am a great listener and I am a neutral and fair person and I know that it was a gift from him. He was not just my dad, as many of you know he was my best friend. I had a trusting, true, open, steady as a rock relationship with him. The kind that will never be replaced because he as a person and as the best man I will ever meet is truly irreplaceable. My dad was an imperfect man as we all are, he made his share of mistakes and had his equal share of regrets. We would talk about them and he was always so sorry for the way things went and the choices he made. Choices that he knew he could not reverse. There were many times he was not proud of who he was. In saying that, he tried to teach me with his learned logic to always try to do (and not do) the things that would make me proud to be who I am. He had so much life in him. He did! His conversations, his humor, jokes, people, his memories, his boats, his wives, my brothers and sister, the things he cherished, and the life that I promise he will still live on through many of us.

I used to tell him he had a "make sense" attitude. 'Yeah if it doesn't make sense to you, then it makes no sense…' LOL.....Oh and Man did he talk and talk and talk unless I was around, because being a combination of my mom and dad I have him beat in that area. Anyone who has ever interrupted me can vouch for that! LOL. He loved the water, Star Trek, vacations, socializing, watching T.V...and so much more. He just was not an alone type of guy. It didn't matter where he was, you knew when he was there, if not just from the lack of silence. And if he knew you or not, he would start talking to you. (You know when you’re in public and you start picking up on someone’s conversation? So, you have the people that stay and look distracted to discretely hear the rest. And you have others that respectfully walk away pretending they didn't hear anything. Then you have my dad... the guy that turns around and give his take on the issue at hand. LOL.) Yep, that was him! Loved dancing and man did he do it well.

He was a stubborn man too… If you ever fought with him you got to meet that side of him. A side that his body met one too many times. I used to say my dads not going until he says he’s going… no exceptions! He lived on after Diseases, heart attacks, strokes, aortic aneurysm, and an amputation... He had his own apartment, his own car, and still lived independently. He adapted and kept living life... Now if that’s not stubborn I don’t know what is! When he had his amputation, a doctor told me that even though my dads stubbornness made it so hard for the doctor to do his job, it’s that same stubbornness that’s going to keep him alive and pull him through this like no other man could, given his circumstances. This last stroke, as many of you know, changed my dad into someone none of us knew. Even me, the daughter that saw him more then not, didn't know how to adapt to this new person that became my father. But we do adapt as people, and I too had to adapt. So I got to know this new man. He was always curious as to what was going on. Frustrated when he was confused. So much that even his speech impaired when he got frustrated. The man that mumbles and whispers his unclear words is suddenly shouting… F@#K F@#K F@#K... Anything that had a swear word in it came out as clear as can be.

When he wanted to be heard and get his point across nothing was stopping him. Ah... there’s that stubborn man shining through! He was always so happy to see people, too. His face always lit up when you would walk in the door with such an innocent appreciation for your being there. And although I knew he may not remember our visit together.... Oh how that smile sticks with you! Edward Kazowski should be an inspiration to all of us, he lived by facing life's challenges and never gave up. Always pushing to live what ever life possible, regardless the ailments and hardships life threw at you. There is always life to be lived and I can whole heartedly say that he LIVED until his very last breath, and for this I am eternally thankful. His strength is my peace. We could all learn a little something from Ed (my dad) the man who never gave up. We will all miss you dearly in our own ways.. Please keep him alive through all of your memories... To live is all he ever wanted. It is now up to us to keep him alive. Let us celebrate his life by living our own and remembering the precious memories we individually had with him. He will always be here with us... We miss you and love you and your passing will never be in vain.

I only knew you briefly but I met a very sweet man. I know why Kiss loved you so much, when we came to see you at meal time I was concerned about if someone should help you. You and her were so proud at her wedding. Im glad you were surrounded buy people who loved you at your last moment. I'm blessed to have met you. Sincerely, Elizabeth Evans

I stare at this beautiful Black Marble Box Is it you in there Dad? I can’t be sure. It doesn’t laugh at my jokes or smile when I walk through the door It doesn’t hold my hand and tell me to be strong It doesn’t say my name and tell me it loves me It doesn’t hug me or hold me or tell me it’s okay It doesn’t wipe my tears away Where are you dad? Where did you go? Time went by so fast and then slow. Why does my heart break every single day. Where are you to help me make it go away. Li... » read more

I only had the opportunity to hang out with Ed twice in his long life. Kiss took me to meet him at Life Care Center one afternoon and a "couple of hours" turned into 5! I got the privilege to see the dynamic between father and daughter. For me, that meant a lot. You could see her transform into a girl with such devotion to her daddy. His little Skipper, laughing at his stories, yet being the voice of reason when his agitation rose. We all had such a good time that day & I knew neither one of the... » read more

Although I did not know this man well, I was able to witness a few times of him with his daughter Kiss. The moments that I got to share were very touching and I knew they loved each other dearly. I pray Edward that you are resting peacefully with our lord and savior and that all your alements are gone. Although you will be dearly missed you are now in a place of peace and your time will continue there beside our father in heaven. I hope someday I will be able to meet you again for I have heard m... » read more

Well I sadly only got to meet you a few times and although I doubt you remember.. You have made a profound affect on the way that I think about somethings just by the stories and anecdotes your amazing daughter has bestowed upon me. You had to of been a patient SAINT to have raised a trouble maker such as the miss Kiss is. I continue to laugh at stories and encourage her to be the best she can be just as I knew you would if you could. She is keeping you alive in the best way she can and that ... » read more

Yes, he had a wonderful smile. That is what I remember about him, especially when he looked at you Kiss. This memorial is beautiful. It reminds me how grateful I am for my relationship with my father. He will always be with you Kiss.
